Information
Description
During the two-day event, hosted by WHO/Europe aims to address the critical challenges facing health and care workers in Europe and central Asia. It seeks to galvanize government actions and result in the Bucharest Declaration on the Health and Care Workforce, endorsed by all 53 countries in the Region, emphasizing concrete actions such as attracting and retaining workers, particularly in underserved areas, improving working conditions and mental health support, fostering digital skills, enhancing workforce governance and planning, advocating ethical migration practices, and addressing gender disparities within the health and care workforce. This initiative responds to WHO/Europe's warning of impending health system strains due to an aging workforce and offers a comprehensive approach to ensure the protection, support, and investment in health and care workers to meet current and future public health challenges.
