The BRIDGE Health project aimed to prepare the transition towards a sustainable and integrated EU health information system for both public health and research purposes.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- to contribute the conceptual framework for a sustainable health monitoring and reporting system;
- to evaluate and improve the core set of European Core Health Indicators (ECHI);
- to strengthen the use of the Healthy Life Years (HLY) indicator;
- to ensure comparability and reliability of data generated by national health examination surveys;
- to maintain and expand work on harmonised European wide Human Biomonitoring (HBM) surveillance;
- to improve and strengthen information and data collection on reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH);
- to maintain and strengthen the implementation of population based registries for chronic diseases;
- to maintain, strengthen and expand the platform for injury surveillance;
- to maintain, strengthen and expand a platform based on health care administrative data;
integrate approaches for health and health care monitoring and reporting;
- to develop tools to monitor and evaluate health care systems;
- to develop a blueprint to integrate population health information;
- to develop a blueprint to integrate health care information systems using existing data sources.
